How One Writer Went from Blogging to Book Contracts in 5 Years

An Interview with Natasha Crain

natasha-2If you’re a writer with a book inside you, a platform builder, or someone who simply wants to have an impact in the world, this interview is for you.

Join me today for a conversation with author and blogger Natasha Crain. Over the past five years Natasha has steadily grown her blog traffic and subscriber list. Her first book released earlier this year, and more are on the way.

This is not the story of someone who experienced crazy over-night success and rode off into the sunset. This is the story of someone who felt called to serve, went after it steadily, and now is experiencing success and impact.

Translation: you can do this!

In this interview Natasha and I talk about the key to growing your email list, how your blog can help you hone your voice and develop books, the hidden gifts of rejection, and more. Enjoy!

  1. Hi Chad! It was great doing the interview with you this week. If anyone has questions about what I shared, I’ll be happy to respond here in the comments. 🙂

    • The pleasure was all mine. Thanks for taking the time, and for your willingness to answer questions here.

  2. Hi Chad and Natasha.
Thanks so much for sharing this very helpful information. Even though Tami and I have been helping couples in their marital journeys for about 20 years, finding our voice and building an online presence (platform) are different things entirely. We shifted gears just over a year ago to doing just that. Sometimes, even though we are sharing what we are passionate about, it can feel like we are never going to get where we want to be. Then we hear a story like Natasha’s and a 5 year marathon makes perfect sense.
You are correct, we can do this!
    Thanks,

    • I’m glad it was helpful! For what it’s worth, though my first book came out in my 5th year of blogging, I actually signed the contract just 3 years after I started. As Chad said, that’s not overnight success, but I hope it encourages you further to know you can do it in a “reasonable” timeframe! 🙂

      • It does indeed encourage us!
For us, it is helpful to know that all of our current investments of time are not in vain, but can lead to something great if we continue to grow and individuals as refine our message.
Maybe we will run into you at a book multi-book signing event someday: yours and ours! ☺️
