The more I work with successful people and observe how they become successful, I’m convinced: success is not the result of some magic key. It doesn’t happen to people who are smarter or prettier or more talented than everybody else, or at least that’s not how it happens most of the time. It’s much simpler than that. Watch the video below to find out what I mean:

Thank you Chad–great story and a great message.
I think in today’s connected world there is great hope for external success, success in terms of finding an audience for one’s art, whatever the niche. There are just so many people out there, if you stick at it there are many who need what each of us is trying to do. So that call to stick with it, producing the art until one by one it gets seen, heard, shared, and loved is crucial.
For me it is continuing to mine the Christian past for wisdom in the changing and challenging present and future.
I hope Advent is full of blessings for you and your family! Thanks for being a blessing to all of us.
Thanks, Gary. Couldn’t agree more. And Happy Christmas to you and yours!!
Great story that illustrates perseverance. Thanks, Chad!
You’re welcome, Melodie, glad you liked it. And thanks for commenting!
Mine is focusing on my devotional writing so that I can publish it to Kindle. Also, finishing my non-fiction book about small groups. It is finished, but need to proofread and edit. I’ve started a content management calendar too for 2015.
Wow, you’re ahead of the game!
Thanks Chad! Love the story! I will keep starting again! When life gets in the way of pouring out words, I won’t give up. I will just keep starting again.
Awesome! Keep after it!!
I’m the slinky stuck at the top of the stairs, and right in the middle on the way down is something called being self employed. I started a blog recently and have whole notebooks full of ideas and things I want to publish there. But, as a business owner for 28 years, I am stuck behind a mound of paperwork. I’m a bookkeeper by default only, and stuck on the stairs. My one thing needs to be a dedicated day to blog, at least once a week. (along with some SEO). Thanks for the wonderful observation.
It sounds like you have a lot of clarity. For what it’s worth, Tim Ferris’s Four-Hour Work Week has helped me be more productive in less time.
I need to schedule my writing time and finish working on two projects. I need to start a blog. Love yours.
Kathy
Thanks, Kathy. You can do this! Have you seen Michael Hyatt’s quick screencast on how to start a blog. That’s how I got started. If you’re interested visit http://michaelhyatt.com/ez-wordpress-setup.html
Chad, I just spent a few energy filled days with my grandkids over Thanksgiving. Children’s spirits are amazing. Thanks for sharing Lucas’ example of determination. I receive your emails for professional insights so automatically after watching the video I said aloud, “keep writing”. However Lucas’ example struck another cord and suprisingly a softer response was “keep working on a few tough relationships”. How about giving him a hug! Carol
Carol, great insight! And the better our relationships, the freer we are to write and otherwise do our art. At least that’s how it works for me!
Makes complete sense!
Good stuff, Chad!
Thanks, Chuck!
Thanks for the call to repetition, Chad. Really expressive and encouraging video. What one step will you be trying over and over again this year?
Great question. I want to keep making videos for my Book Proposal Academy course! How about you?
Awesome!!! Thanks for the reminder!!!
You’re welcome! Would love to hear your one thing, Stephanie.
